The Woman Behind the waves
Yara Mendez Celaya is a mother, educator, and school counselor holding a Master's in Education as a first-generation Latina in her lineage. She is also a spiritual teacher devoted to Indigenous reclamation, storytelling, and healing.
A mermaid in the desert, Yara was raised among monsoons and quiet droughts, dreaming of seafoam long before she ever knew the taste of the sea. Her work is rooted in the belief that healing happens through remembrance—that the wisdom we seek often already lives within us.
Deeply influenced by Indigenous teachings, poetry, and a lifelong relationship with intuition, Yara created the Mystical Mermaid Oracle as a gentle invitation for others to reconnect with themselves. Every card was written with intention, offering not certainty, but companionship for the journey.
To Yara, mermaids are not merely myth. They are guardians of transformation, symbols of feminine power, and keepers of the sacred spaces between fear and courage, grief and joy, memory and becoming.
